Rita J. Platt MA LCPC NCC


Rita received her Master of Professional Counseling degree from Liberty University and is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado. She has been working in the counseling field since 2001.

Rita has written magazine articles and books published by NavPress and contributed to a book recently published by Group Publishing. She has spoken for women’s retreats and presented a variety of workshops. She is a Prepare-Enrich Certified premarital and marital counselor and a member of the Christian Association for Psychological Studies.

Rita enjoys working with adults, teens, children and couples. Her experience includes providing anger management and family relationship groups in the public schools, counseling at-risk adolescents, and trauma counseling.

Her areas of specialty include mood disorders, depression, trauma/PTSD, anxiety disorders, family counseling, grief/loss, faith related issues, relationship issues, ADHD/behavioral disorders and marital counseling.

Her theoretical orientation is integrative while incorporating Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychodynamic and Narrative Therapy. She is intentional about matching specific interventions to individual needs. She firmly believes in the importance of connection and safety in relationship as she walks with clients toward healing and resolution of issues.
